Three types of language test are conducted at London Learning Centre:
Placement Tests:
Students are required to do this test at the beginning of their course to make sure they are allocated the right class for their level.
Monthly Progress Reviews (MPRs):
The MPR is held on the last Wednesday of every month to check that the student is making progress in their course and tells them exactly which areas (Listening, Speaking, Grammar, Reading, and Writing) they need to work on. Student attendance at the MPR is compulsory.
The MPR is conducted over a full lesson during the student’s normal class time.
Students who do not attend the test are required to pay an administrative fee (£30) unless they have a medical certificate to prove their sickness.
Trinity exams:
The Trinity ISE exam includes the following components: Portfolio Tasks, Controlled Written Examination, and Spoken Interview. Your classes will help you prepare for all parts.
We hold Trinity exams at the college at least four times per year. Please see reception to register for the exam.
Trinity exams are recognised by the UK Border Agency. Many UK universities accept Trinity ISE III instead of IELTS for postgraduate courses.
Trinity ISE exams are included in courses of 8 weeks or longer. Students on shorter courses or students who enrolled before 2012 may register for the exam at an additional cost.
How to register for external exams:
If you want to take a Cambridge or IELTS exam we help you with the exam registration process. You can take these exams at an external test centre.
