Why do we teach IELTS through private lessons?

In a class of up to 10 people, there might be someone who needs special help with writing, another person who needs extra speaking practice, etc. It is impossible in this case for a teacher to focus on all students’ particular needs.

If you work alone with the teacher you won’t waste any time – you will concentrate for the whole of each lesson on the particular areas of language that you need.

Reading

• how to use skimming and scanning to save time
• being aware of paraphrase to avoid choosing trick questions
• extensive practice of all question types

Writing

• practice of fixed expressions which can be used for any question
• awareness of all types of Part 1 question
• planning for Part 2 to save time and develop arguments

Listening

• extensive practice of all four of the sections
• avoiding distractors
• awareness of all types of examiner tricks

Speaking

• keeping the conversation flowing
• how to use intonation and pronunciation to sound natural
• using vocabulary and expressions appropriately

The grammar and vocabulary most relevant to the exam are also covered. Practice tests are done under exam conditions.
